  • Jordan has 10 scoring titles. Lebron has one. Lebron has more points than Jordan already. Lebron does everything else better on a basketball court, Jordan’s advantage is his scoring, but Lebron has more points. I love Micheal Jordan, but I’d rather have Lebron James. You put Lebron up against the competition that Jordan faced and he would have demolished those guys.

Gregory CarterGregory Carter14 orë më parë
  • GOAT is beyond opinion, its defined by the impact a player had on the game. Jordan made basketball famous and changed the game forever. Nobody before or after him was able to impact the game on the level or higher than Michael Jordan. Jordan overshadowed everybody else and was more famous than basketball itself. If we have a player that does that again, we may have a chance for a debate. But for now its MJ

Rafael ZimmermannRafael Zimmermann15 orë më parë
  • Scoring title shouldn't be one of these 5 boxes to check. C'mon now. Jordan averaged over 23 field goal attempts per game for his ENTIRE career with the Chicago bulls. MJ averaged 31.5 ppg in those 13 seasons with chicago because of the amount of shots he took every game. Lebron only averaged over 23 field goal attempts per game in only ONE season of his entire 17 year career. The ONLY season that Lebron averaged 23 field goal attempts he averaged 31.4 ppg. How about that? You penalize a player for being more of a team player? If you look at how many points LJ averages per fga over his career vs MJ. LJ's stats are better. Divide total points in career by total fga in career. Then you can see how many points are averaged per fga. Jordan averaged 8.7 free throw attempts per game during his 13 years in Chicago where LJ only averages 8.0 fta per game through his entire career. My point with FTA per career is Jordan even averages more FTA per game career wise than Lebron too. Yet Lebron still averages more pts per FGA through career. LJ (34241 pts/24781 fga =1.38.) I'm only using MJs 13 years with Chicago. MJ (29277 pts /21686 fga =1.35.)

    rilenixxrilenixx2 ditë më parë
    • @Chris Prievo 3PA are still part of total FGA. So Lebrons extra 3p shots he made thru his entire career vs Jordans only means Lebron accumulated 1 extra point for each make in that fashion. Take Jordans almost 60 more fta he averaged per year thru his career into account as well. At the end of the day Lebrons per fga attempt point value is still better. And free throws are part of total points but not total fga. Meaning the more free throws you make per game only HELPS the total points average per FGA.

      rilenixxrilenixx2 ditë më parë
    • @Chris Prievo I used only his chicago years. Throw in his entire career for even lower numbers. I'm still only using his Chicago years below. Point is that MJ averaged over 23 fga per game for his entire career. That is division I used. Total number of POINTS divided by total number of FGA. Your bringing 3 pt attempts into it. Ok. MJ averaged .7 more free throw attempts per game than LJ which turns into 57.4 more fta per year than LJ averages. So LJ has made 1320 more 3 pointers in his entire career then MJ made. To be honest I don't like either one of them. I'm commenting on scoring titles being one of these 5 checkmarks they use. Its ridiculous. If Lebron averaged as many shots per game that Jordan did then he would be averaging slightly more points a game.

      rilenixxrilenixx2 ditë më parë
    • and look at Lebron's 3 point attempts vs Jordans....that negates that theory. Lebron 5,546 vs MJ's 1,778 attempts...LOL..(everybody seems to to forget that important detail) and Lebron made 1,827 vs MJs making 581....and THAT is why Lebron passed MJ in points. 3points add up more than 2 points..(though it took him alot longer to do it) Lebron also played his entire carreer in a no hand checking era where it is easier to score, & his shot % is only a 1-1.5% better than MJs???? LOL...wow...if he was better he should be more than 5-10 % higher in his % with uncontested shots. Jordan still has the highest PER rating anyway. Better offensive and defensive player than Lebron. Lebron can keep that assists and blocks..I'll go with Jordan stats. Jordan can pass just as good as Lebron if not better. Jordan has more steals & more offensive rebounds to...and the intangible things like drive & determination. Lebron is only a good facilitator cuz he hand picks his superstar teammates so of course they will score of his assists. Jordan's 1989 season alone crushes ANY season Lebron has done.

Chris PrievoChris Prievo2 ditë më parë
  • This criteria is a joke!! 10x scoring titles and 6 of them goes to the finals, the 60% with all those accolades that accompany him. Lebron James' strengths are assists and as facilitator, look at the top assists players, all PGs but how many times did they reach the finals??? Jalen is bias with his GOAT criteria, LBJ has only played to compete in the finals, no other players in Jordan Era has reach the finals this much in a lifetime. Bill Russell era cant be compared with less team and less competition. People says its a TEAM game but the criteria argue over MJ as Goat with individual accolades????, the 6-0 is just there as a gate keeper when a solid argument is being realize, same as Kobe when he lost in the finals. MJ is the goat, but Lebron James is challenging the definition of a GOAT. Suddenly MJ standards are not the best attributes of a complete basket ball player which suggest that being a GOAT isn't about scoring and taking the last shot. I'm not saying LBJ > MJ right now but he could if goes to his 40's with a few more rings and gets the 1# in points of all time, at some point these analyst needs to accept that they given LBJ an insurmountable task to upset MJ and there should be finite limit to all the additional requirements they added over the years.

Victor SantosVictor Santos2 ditë më parë
    • LOL..Nobody thinks Lebron is challenging the definition of goat. He has way too many blemishes...4th quarter disappearances., flopping, jumping teams after losing, recruiting players, sweeps in the finals, 3 no shows in playoffs when he started, soon to be all time turnovers king, and the biggest stain...Jason Terry. Modern medicine & Sorts training is what is keeping his longevity and his young start in the NBA, nothing more...he has 2 years at most left before other players challenging his dominance start to peak and move Lebron aside for good(ie, Zion, Kwai, Giannnis, etc)

Chris PrievoChris Prievo2 ditë më parë

Even titles is subjective because of team strength. Lastly, according to this logic a player could come second in every category for their entire career, and a player could have one amazing season and then be out of the league and they technically would have more stats on the “GOAT” criteria.
